SAFETY BOUNDARY · ATA 29

Power removed ≠ zero hydraulic energy

Stopping the hydraulic pressure source is not automatically the same as depressurizing every part of the system.

Safety boundary

The source treats hydraulic power removal and depressurization as separate concepts. Stored or trapped pressure can remain after a pump stops.

Never infer that a line/component is safe to open because the pump is OFF. Use the current approved task to establish the required zero-energy condition.

KEEP IN MIND
  • Pump OFF is not a zero-energy certificate
  • Residual/trapped pressure must be treated as stored energy
