How the term is used
NDT includes methods such as penetrant, magnetic particle, eddy current, ultrasonic and radiographic testing. Method suitability depends on material, geometry, defect type, access and required sensitivity.
Where you may encounter it
Qualified NDT personnel perform or control inspections and issue traceable results.
A test indication is not automatically a defect, and absence of an indication does not prove every defect type is absent.
