How the term is used
Type-rating requirements can include approved theoretical training, practical training, examination, experience and authority endorsement. Requirements differ by regulator, licence category and aircraft complexity.

Technicians use type training as one part of a broader competence and authorization pathway.
Do not assume that a course certificate, licence endorsement and company authorization are the same thing.
