TECHNICAL EXPLANATION

What it means technically

Recorded temperature, duration, rotor speed and start sequence determine the required maintenance action.

FULL CONTEXT

How the term is used

A hot start can result from excessive fuel, insufficient airflow, delayed ignition, starter weakness or control-system faults. Engine controls may automatically abort or protect the start depending on design.

MAINTENANCE CONTEXT

Where you may encounter it

Technicians follow the engine-specific inspection and reporting criteria after a suspected event.

Safety and misunderstanding note

Do not judge acceptability from memory or appearance; use recorded data and current approved limits.
