Fatigue, workload and attention

Fatigue reduces attention, memory, decision speed and error detection. High workload narrows focus; very low workload can reduce alertness. Practical controls include realistic planning, task breaks, independent inspections where required, clear handovers and stopping when fitness for duty is inadequate. Individuals must follow company fatigue and fitness policies. Public learning should not replace those procedures, but it can help technicians recognize that confidence does not eliminate impairment.

> Educational explanation only. Current approved maintenance data and organization procedures control actual work.
