How the term is used
A work package groups scheduled tasks, defect rectification, modifications, inspections, non-routine work and supporting records. Production control tracks status, dependencies, access and close-up.
Where you may encounter it
Technicians use package status, task control and handover records to prevent omitted or duplicated work.
Closing the package does not remove the need to verify every task, open item, independent inspection and aircraft configuration.
