How the term is used
The SRM provides structural identification, allowable damage, inspection criteria, material and fastener information, and approved repairs for defined conditions. Damage outside published limits normally requires engineering disposition.
Where you may encounter it
Structures personnel use the current SRM with approved inspection methods, tooling and organization authorization.
Do not generalize a repair between locations or aircraft. Structural load paths, material and effectivity must match the approved data.
