How the term is used
Effective handover includes completed work, open tasks, disturbed systems, isolated power, removed panels, tools, parts, test status, deferred items and required next actions. Written and verbal methods should support each other.

Technicians update records as work progresses rather than reconstructing the situation from memory at shift end.
