TECHNICAL EXPLANATION

What it means technically

Repeated tripping can indicate a fault, overload, wiring problem or equipment failure and requires approved troubleshooting.

FULL CONTEXT

How the term is used

Aircraft circuit breakers protect wiring and equipment from overcurrent. Some also provide isolation, but their operational use and reset policy are controlled by aircraft and operator procedures.

MAINTENANCE CONTEXT

Where you may encounter it

Technicians identify the correct circuit, configuration and power state before pulling, resetting or replacing a breaker.

Safety and misunderstanding note

Do not repeatedly reset a tripped breaker or use it as a routine switch unless approved procedures specifically allow it.
